It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katrina Ann Shepherd, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on February 16, 1964, in Madeira, Ohio, Katrina filled her life with love, kindness, and a generous spirit. She had a beautiful way of making everyone around her feel welcome and cared for, always willing to give her time, support, and love to those she cherished. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Katrina devoted many years of her life as a postal worker with the U.S. Postal Service, where her kind spirit and jovial nature made her a cherished presence among her colleagues and the community. She retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service that will be remembered fondly by all.
An animal lover to her core, Katrina had a special place in her heart for Siamese cats. Her nurturing nature was perhaps most deeply felt in the love and devotion she gave to her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Lindsay Koo, and son, Bradley Shepherd. She took immense pride in their upbringing including being the PTO president at their school while working full time. She was proud of the people they became and always held their happiness close to her heart. Her love for her children was unwavering, and she treasured the memories they created together throughout the years. She was equally devoted to her cherished granddaughter, Lila Koo, whose presence brought her immense joy.
Katrina is also survived by her son-in-law, Gregory Koo Jr., her sister, Rebecca " Missy" Smith, and her nephew, Phillip Smith. Together, they shared countless memories of laughter, love, family traditions, and holiday gatherings-moments that will forever be etched in their hearts. Katrina's greatest gift was the love she gave so freely, and her family will carry that love with them always.
Katrina's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Church 552 Main St. Milford, Ohio 10 AM Saturday September 5th. The family will be receiving friends from 8:30 till 9:30 AM at Evans Funeral Home 741 Center St. Milford, Ohio prior to Mass. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, Ohio, honoring her journey and the love she shared with all.
Katrina's absence will be felt deeply, but her vibrant personality and the warmth she brought to those around her will live on in the memories of all who loved her.
Katrina was preceded in death by: parents James and Mary Toomey, brothers Lawrence Michael Toomey, Timothy Toomey, James Toomey, and brother-in-law Bill Smith
