It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Steven Tatum, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on January 30, 1942, in Harrodsburg, KY, Ken lived a life full of adventure and dedication, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from February 23, 1960, until his discharge on October 18, 1963. His military service was a point of pride for him, and he carried the lessons he learned in the service throughout his life.
After his time in the military, Ken dedicated himself to his work in the factory industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie. He found joy not only in his labor but also in his passion for dirt track racing. As a former crew chief, he thrived in the excitement of the track, fostering friendships and unforgettable memories along the way.
In his later years, Ken became a devoted genealogist, enthusiastically diving into his family's history. His love for his family was profound, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Ken leaves behind his dear son Steve Tatum and daughter-in-law Melissa Tatum, his son Robert Tatum and daughter-in-law Irene Tatum, and his cherished grandchildren: Kayla Fitzgerald, Katie Pence, Robert Tatum Jr., Johnny Tatum, and Nathan Saylor, and great grand children: Karsyn, Jamison ,Kylee , Aurora, Scarlet, Sophie and Oliver He is also survived by his brothers, Nolan and Frank Tatum and sister Jill McKiddy, who shared many wonderful memories with him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Kenneth Sunday July 19, 2026 from 2 - 5 PM at the American Legion Post 256. The address is 897 Oakland Rd., Loveland, Ohio. All who knew and loved Ken are invited to come together and celebrate a life well-lived - filled with laughter, stories, and the enduring bonds of family.
In our hearts, Ken will always be remembered as a source of strength and joy. Until we meet again on the other side of the racetrack, rest in peace, dear Ken.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Tatum, parents Cecil & Mary Tatum, son Johnny Tatum, brother David Tatum and brother Jack Tatum.
