Larry D Helton

February 16, 1958 — February 17, 2024

Larry D. Helton lost his battle with cancer on February 17, 2024, at the age of 66. The day prior he celebrated one last birthday full of warm wishes and lots of love. Even though he faced challenging times, he never felt anything less than grateful for 65 amazing years filled with incredible memories.

He enjoyed 48 wonderful years working at The Christ Hospital where he met lifelong friends along the way. He truly loved his job and those who helped make it so meaningful.

Larry was a man that loved the outdoors and he enjoyed sharing his passions with others. He enjoyed hunting and passing on a tradition he learned as a kid. He also loved going fishing and all the memories made with family and friends over the years. Larry lived a pretty simple life and figured out how to turn even small things into great adventures.

Larry was an incredible father who figured out how to be a real life hero. He was his daughter's best friend and the first person she would ask for advice. He was an inspiration to his son and a phone call away if he needed a hand. Larry was the "World's Best Grandpa" to his granddaughter who will always remember him taking her fishing. To all of his friends and family he was always a person you could count on and one of those people you will never forget. He positively impacted others by being a strong, kind, and loving man that will forever impact the world in a profoundly unforgettable way!

Larry was the loving father of Larry D. Helton Jr. and Kattie Helton; Cherished grandpa to Addison Helton; Brother of Bennie (Karen) Helton, Ronnie (Mona) Helton, Connie (Rick) Powers, and Debbie (Todd) Harpring. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Linda (nee Fugate) Helton, his parents Delmar and Janice (nee Griese) Helton, and two siblings Larry Fights and Jackie Funk.

Larry has chosen not to have funeral services. His wish was to not be remembered by how he left us, but to be remembered by the great memories he made with all of us.
