Carlier, The Honorable Lawrence, 84, passed December 28, 2016. Beloved husband of Joan Ballbach for 19 years and the late Mary Jane McCormick for 38 years; Loving father of Suzy (Rob Thomas) Brackett, Pete Carlier, Kelly Carlier, Jed (Sarah) Carlier and Kate (Brian) Currie; Grandfather of 12; Great-grandfather of 2; Brother of Jerry Carlier (Dec'd), Carolyn (Bob) Farrell, Paul (Darlene) Carlier, Barbara (George) Carl and Michael Carlier.
Larry grew up along Stonelick Creek and graduated from Owensville High School. He entered Miami University for 2 years and went on active duty in the US Navy during the Korean War. After service in the US Navy, he reattended college and graduated in 1959 from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
He entered private practice in Milford with Flach Douglas. In 1964 he was elected to a term in the Ohio Legislature. He served as assistant prosecuting attorney from 1968 until 1970, when he was elected Clermont County Judge. Larry continued to serve in that office and practiced law until, in 1980, he was elected Clermont County Juvenile and Probate Judge. He retired from that position in 1992 and continued employment with the court as a magistrate and assigned judge until retiring in 2006.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Saturday February 4th 4 - 8 PM at the Golf Club at Stonelick Hills 3155 Sherilyn Lane Batavia, OH.
