It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loretta Joan Cox, beloved wife, mother, mawmaw, and friend, who left this world on May 22, 2026, at the age of 71. Loretta was born on July 14, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent her life surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Loretta dedicated herself to her family, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. She was the loving spouse of James Cox, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. Together, they created a beautiful family, including their children, Jimmy Cox and Amanda (Eddie) Anderson. Loretta found immense joy in being a grandmother to Alexis, Abbie, Hayley, Emma, Jordan, and Carson, and a great-grandmother to little Amelia, Owen, and Aiken. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and always remained the center of her life.

Loretta is also survived by her siblings, John, Barbara, Iris (Bill), and Christine (Jack), an extended family, and a multitude of friends who all cherished her presence in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Leo, her parents Robert and Lucille, and her sisters Toni and Carol.

Over the course of her life, she enjoyed many trips to Florida as well as fun nights at the casino! In more recent times she enjoyed sitting on her back deck watching the geese fly in, storage wars marathons and cold glass of chocolate milk.

A visitation to celebrate Loretta's life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, beginning at 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Montgomery, Ohio.

A private family inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, as a gesture of love and gratitude for the care they provided.
