Loretta Jean Forst

June 10, 1935 — January 28, 2025

Loretta Jean Forst, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 at the age of 89. Born on June 10, 1935 in Whitley County, Indiana. She resided there until the Summer of 1969 when her husband’s employment brought them to Cincinnati, Ohio. They lived in the suburb of Wyoming until 1991 and then relocated to West Chester.  Loretta first worked as a florist at Frank’s Greenhouse in Columbia City. Upon moving to Cincinnati, she was employed at Wyoming Middle School in the cafeteria. Later she worked in the kitchens of Amber Park Assisted Living, Maple Knoll Village and West Chester Christian Child Care.  Loretta’s passions were flowers, gardening, sewing and cooking. Her flower beds at her home were spectacular, filled with color and variety for every season. There was always a vegetable garden in the back yard that she enjoyed incorporating into to her cooking and baking. Sewing was a way of life, making clothes for herself and her daughter along with various craft items. After retiring, she shared her sewing skills in the Dorcas Quilting Circle at her church. It combined fellowship with her generosity by gifting the quilts to the less fortunate.  Loretta is survived by her children, Greg (Eve) Forst, Randy (Kim) Forst, Nora Combs, and her brother Jack Keiser. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren, Brandon (Kelly) Forst, Travis (Joy) Forst, Jared Forst, Daniel Combs and Kenneth Combs. Her great-grandchildren include Lauren, Lacey, Lucas, Jathan, Bruce, Brea, Sophia, Oscar, and Penelope.  Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Walter E. and Florence E. Keiser, sister Joanna Sewell, and husband Ovid James Forst.  There will be a visitation at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, Ohio on February 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM. This will provide an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects. Also at the funeral home, family and friends are invited to the 11:00 AM service celebrating Loretta’s life. Internment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park and Cemetery in Colerain Township.
