Lorraine Scarborough

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Scarborough, a beloved wife, mother, aunt, step-mother, great-grandmother, step-grandmother, and step-great-grandmother, who departed this life on May 20, 2025, at the age of 75. Lorraine was born on May 9, 1950, and spent her life in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she created a warm and loving home filled with compassion and devotion.

Throughout her career as a talented seamstress, Lorraine touched the lives of many with her creativity and craftsmanship. Her love for family was the cornerstone of her existence; she cherished the moments spent with her loved ones, always putting their happiness first. She is survived by her husband John Scarborough, son, Donald (Michelle) Bright, step-children, Glenda (Tony) Bedinghaus and Jason Scarborough, grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Bright, great-grandson, Eli Bright, step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Drew, Samantha, Cody (Jill), Justin (Tasha), Anakin, Braydon, Jaycek, Landon, Jade and Randall. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren all of which will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Despite facing physical disabilities for over 30 years, Lorraine's spirit remained unyielding. She overcame obstacles with grace and strength, continuing to find joy in life's simple pleasures. Lorraine relished playing bingo and visiting the casino, where her laughter and vivacity could light up any room.

All who knew Lorraine will remember her not just for her resilience, but for her unwavering love and gentle spirit.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 27th at St. Martin Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ohio. May Lorraine Scarborough rest in peace, knowing her spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of those she left behind.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Mae Bright, step-sons, Wade and John L. Scarborough, nieces, nephews as well as five brothers and four sisters.
