Louis Earl Haynes

December 9, 1944 — August 1, 2025

Louis Earl Haynes, a dedicated teacher, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by family. Born in Springfield, Ohio on December 9, 1944, Louis lived a life filled with purpose and passion. He was raised in a time that shaped his character, ultimately leading him to earn his Bachelors and Master's Degree from The Ohio State University and inspire countless students throughout his twenty-five years of teaching at Cincinnati Public Schools.Louis was more than an educator. Outside the classroom, Louis proudly served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War era. His time there inspired his love of international travel. He and his family continued to travel overseas countless times creating many memorable experiences.

Louis was a lifelong sports fan and memorabilia collector. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. Ohio State Buckeye football gave him particularly great joy. He and his family were season ticket holders attending hundreds of home and away games as well as countless bowl games. When a fan passed him on the street and shouted, "O-H", he would always respond with "I-O." He tested this wherever he went even as far west as San Francisco and as far south as Miami.

He is survived by his beloved son, Tony Haynes, daughter-in-law, Cindy Haynes, and adored grandson, Carson Haynes. Together, they will carry forward his legacy of kindness, dedication, and a passion for education.

Louis was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 37 years, Anna Haynes, and parents Harold and Rachel Haynes.

Funeral services for Louis will be held at a later date, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, sharing laughter and memories that honor his spirit. We encourage everyone who knew Louis to join us in commemorating his impact and the joy he brought to our lives.
