Luella C. Litfin, a devoted mother, cherished friend, and beloved member of the Milford community, passed away peacefully at Magnolia Springs on May 29, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on June 25, 1930, in Deerpark, Ohio, Luella led a life characterized by love, kindness,resilience, and an unwavering spirit.
Luella devoted her life to raising her six children - Linda Wesseler, Robert L. (Debra) Litfin, Jr., Lois (Phil) Arterburn, Cynthia (Richard) Thoman, Susan (Gary) Stroup, and Gary (Kim) Litfin. Each of her children was a testament to her nurturing guidance and insatiable love. A proud grandmother, she leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom represents a piece of her enduring legacy. Luella is also survived by her dear sister Margie Swigert, brother Steven (Dianne) Reising, sister-in-law Helen (Litfin) Jordy, and sister-in-law Judy Reising. Luella was preceded in death by: her parents Leo and Alma (Herrmann) Reising, and husband Robert L. Litfin, Sr.
Luella's spirit blossomed in her many hobbies. A passionate gardener, she found joy in nurturing both her plants and her family. She loved canning the fruits of her labor, sharing jars of her homemade preserves or vegetables with loved ones. Family camping trips became cherished memories filled with laughter, storytelling, and the warmth of togetherness.
Luella dedicated many years of service to Milford Local Schools, working in the cafeteria where she became a beloved figure, known not only for her culinary skills but also for the kindness she extended to students and staff alike.
Her warmth, laughter, and generosity will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to honor Luella's life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 10:00AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The family invites friends and loved ones to come together in celebration of her remarkable journey. Following the service, Luella will be laid to rest in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH, in a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Baldrick's Foundation (1-800-899-2253) or stbaldricks.org, honoring Luella's lifelong commitment to community and family.
