Madeline Riehle

Mary Madeline Riehle, 85, passed May 17, 2023. Madeline was born to Bill and Helen Riehle on August 4, 1937. At the young age of 11, she contracted polio, but did not let it stop her. Instead, she persevered with grace and was known for her sweet demeanor and kindness. After graduating from Owensville High School in 1955, she was a loyal worker at C.G.& E. before it became Duke Energy. She was even awarded her own personal parking place at the Batavia office when they moved from Milford. After 37 years of service, she retired in 1992 and lived independently until just recently, even driving until just 2-1/2 years ago.

She loved her nieces and nephews and always enjoyed hearing about their activities, often attending them. Recently, she found such joy in hearing about the new children in the family and going to the casino with her friends. When she was able, she loved shopping, especially when she got her scooter, which was always on the “rabbit setting," never turtle.

Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard J Riehle and Fredrick W. Riehle.

Survived by her brother Joseph E. (Faye) Riehle, and sisters Kathleen M. Hayes and Virginia A. (Gary) Landrum, sisters in law Pat and Esther, also loved very much by her 16 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Monday May 22, 2023 at St Louis Church 210 N. Broadway St. Owensville, Ohio. Visitation starting at 10:30 AM.
