MAE FUGATE FULTZ PROFFITT, 92, of Milford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 after a brief illness at SEM Haven Retirement Community.
Mae was born on October 24, 1926 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Martin and Mollie (Eversole) Fugate.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Proffitt, brothers Glennie, Oral, and Orville Fugate, sister Alma (Fugate) Miniard, and infant sons Paul and Silas.
As an adult, Mae worked at RCA and Swallen's. She was a woman of many interests and talents. She loved quilting, spending time with her family and friends, making those around her laugh, and listening to country music. A charter member of Mount Repose Baptist Church, she strived to live a life of kindness and Christ-like generosity. She was a member of many of the church's organizations and loved making new friends. Very often, she could be found volunteering whether it be bringing meals to those in need or helping a neighbor with their garden.
She is survived by her loving daughter Shirley Fultz Soellner and step-daughters Jeri (John) Ostendorf and Jeanette (Ray) Emery, grandsons Jon (Jennifer), Matthew (Anne) and Marc (Amy) Soellner, numerous step-grandsons, great-grandchildren Evie and Emily Soellner, Dominic Reinhart, and many step-great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation Friday July 19th beginning at 12:30 PM, followed be the Funeral at 1:30 PM. Ann at First Baptist Church of Mount Repose 6088 Branch Hill-Guinea Pike Milford, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Repose Baptist Quilting Group or St. Andrew Church in Milford, Ohio.
