Maggie Waltraud Martin, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in Walton, Kentucky.

She was born to Ernst and Martha (Reuther) Michel on May 14, 1940 in Keidelheim, Germany, where she grew up. She was married to Wesley Wagers Martin in Simmern, Germany, on July 2, 1962. They lived in Germany, France, Texas, Alabama, Turkey, and California, where Wesley served in the Air Force.

The Martin family settled in Owensville, Ohio, in 1969, where Maggie lived for the next 47 years. She worked 27 years for the Clermont Northeastern School District in Batavia, Ohio, first as a teacher’s aide and later as a secretary at the high school then at the middle school.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Stephen Martin and Raymond Martin, son-in-law Mike Philpot, sisters Margaret Michel and Brunhilde Seibel, and brother Wilfred Reuther.

Maggie is survived by daughters Karin Hamlin (Jeff) and Kay Philpot; daughter-in-law Susan Martin; grandchildren Megan Napier (Austin), Wes Philpot (Lily), Kim Hamlin, Isaac Hamlin, Chris Martin, and Claire Martin; great granddaughters Oakleigh Napier and Gianna Philpot; sister Hannelore Dillig; brothers Adolf Michel, Alfred Michel, Emil Michel, and Hartmut Michel; and special friend Sharon Poyser.

Private funeral services will be held.
