Margaret F. Edwards

Margaret F. Edwards, a beloved member of the Goshen community, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on January 19, 1936, in Corbin, KY, Margaret dedicated her life to education and touched the hearts of countless students throughout her 43-year career as a teacher in the Goshen Schools.

Margaret's passion for teaching shone brightly as she nurtured young minds and inspired her students to reach for their dreams. Known for her warmth, patience, and unwavering dedication, she left an indelible mark on her students' lives, shaping them into compassionate and accomplished individuals. Margaret's love for reading was infectious, and she delighted in sharing her favorite stories and instilling a lifelong love of literature in her students.

Beyond her career, Margaret was a loving mother to her children, Allan (Heather) Edwards, Darrell (Rudy) Edwards, and Lisa (Gina) Edwards. She poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Margaret's grandchildren - Parker, Greer, Will, Alex, Brooke, Sam, and Cooper - brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her great-grandchild, Lavender, was a constant source of delight and wrapped her great-grandmother's heart with pure happiness. Margaret is also survived by her brothers Jim Parker and Dave Parker and her sister Phyllis Neal. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald and her brothers and sister Sonny Parker, Alta McManus and Denny Parker.

Outside of her family and career, Margaret found solace in her hobbies. She had a green thumb and spent countless hours tending to her garden. Margaret's creative spirit led her to explore various crafts in which she enjoyed with her grandchildren

The community, friends, and loved ones of Margaret Edwards are welcome to pay their respects, which will be held at the Goshen United Methodist Church on January 31, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at the same location on February 1, 2024, at 10:30 am, where we will honor Margaret's life and find solace in shared memories. Following the funeral service, Margaret will be laid to rest at Goshen Cemetery

Margaret Edwards will forever be remembered as a passionate educator, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a kind-spirited friend. Her love for her family, dedication to teaching, and ardor for her hobbies touched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Goshen Education Foundation to support teacher grants to benefit Goshen students.
