Margie Catherine Towhey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margie Towhey, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devoted friend. Margie was born on January 23, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and she suddenly departed this life on December 3, 2024, at the age of 94, in Milford, Ohio.

A feisty Irish woman, Margie was a dedicated Catholic whose faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She exemplified the true meaning of selflessness, devoting herself to raising her four children-her proudest achievement. Margie's love for her family was unconditional and boundless; her warm presence and comforting wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Margie found joy in many simple pleasures. She had a soft spot for dogs and welcomed them into her home with open arms. Her love of gardening, where she cultivated both flowers and an abundance of love, mirrored the care she bestowed upon her family. An avid reader, Margie could often be found lost in the pages of a good book, her mind exploring the vast worlds beyond her own. She was also a passionate Cincinnati Bengals football fan, always cheering for her team with unyielding spirit and enthusiasm.

Margie is the beloved mother of Kathie (Ross) Cooper, Susan (late Russ) Hoffard, Tom Towhey, and Jack Keenan. She is the loving grandmother of, Jessica, Jeff, James, Amy, Peter, Axel, Maddison, great-grandmother of Emerson, Eli, Zoe, Marley, Dylan, and one on the way. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Towhey, and her sister Barbara Calk.

The family will receive friends at St. Elizabeth Seton Church on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10:00am until time of Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Margie Towhey will forever remain in our hearts as a symbol of strength, love, and unshakeable faith. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace.
