Marilyn Jean Geise (Nee Smith) was born on February 28, 1944 to the late Thomas and Georgianna (Nee Nagel) Smith; Loving wife of 58 years to Richard (Rich) L. Geise; Dear mother to Mike (Molly) Geise, Rick (Pam) Geise, Tammy (Matt) McConnell; Cherished grandmother to Emily, Sara, Chris, Logan, Lucas, Lindsay, Megan, Ella, Kaitlyn, and Clara.
Marilyn and Rich met in 1962 at a flower shop while he was buying flowers for his then girlfriend. It was love at first sight and Rich knew Marilyn was the woman for him. They married in 1964 and created a beautiful family with three children, their spouses, and ten grandchildren, and were devoted to each other for over 58 years of marriage. The couple lived in Piqua, OH and Tyson, VT before settling in Milford, OH, where they lived for almost 40 years before their recent move to Batavia, OH.
Marilyn worked at Security Savings for many years, and loved both her work and her customers. She was an active parishioner at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford, OH, where she was part of Ladies Sodality, quilting club and prayer chain ministry. In her spare time, Marilyn loved staying connected with family and friends – handwritten letters, phone calls, and countless outings – bowling, dancing, neighborhood parties, Marilyn never met a stranger. She enjoyed roller skating, playing cards, Black Friday shopping and supporting her grandchildren – never missing a sporting event, school performance or awards ceremony. She also loved to travel to new places. Marilyn and Rich took regular trips together – whether just the two of them, travels with friends, meeting new people on Croswell bus tours or trips to Gatlinburg, beach vacations or Michigan City with their children and grandchildren, Marilyn loved to see different parts of the country and world.
