Mark Alan Reynolds

September 7, 1949 — May 12, 2021

Mark Alan Reynolds, an entrepreneur (general contractor) and long-time resident of Milford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 at the age of 71 after a courageous, month-long battle with COVID-19 and other complications. Mark is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Sharon (Gates) Reynolds; children Andy (Ann) Reynolds, Joe (Rochelle) Reynolds, K.C. (Ryan) DeBra, Tyler (Stephanie) Reynolds; grandchildren, Ayla, Cecilia, Audrey, Melody, Johnathan, Natalie, Iris, Heidi; siblings, Ken (the late Sue) Reynolds, Connie (Russ) Klier, Marti (Greg) Richard, Gail (Greg) Hashem; brother-in-laws Mike (Lucia) Gates and Jim (Diana) Gates; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mark was born on September 7, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH to George M. Reynolds and Ruth (Geary) Reynolds (deceased). Beloved son-in-law of William J. Gates and Betty (Karch) Gates (deceased).

Mark knew what it meant to live life to the fullest. He was an accomplished musician (avid singer, guitar and harmonica player), skillful fisherman and nature enthusiast; a true outdoorsman. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. He was known for his famous pancakes (which quickly became known as "Papa's pancakes") and found great joy in the many achievements of his children and grandchildren. He proudly attended every sporting event, recital, Birthday party, preschool graduation (every event was significant) and he was eager to lavish praise upon his family.

Mark was a simple man. He did not take fashion cues from anyone. His signature everyday look was all his; a play-on-words comfortable tee or a simple button-down flannel shirt, a basic pair of khaki pants and a baseball cap. His most notable feature was his mustache, which he wore proudly for over 50 years.

The way he died is just like he always lived: he wrote his own rules and paved his own way. He did not give up without putting up a huge fight. Mark managed his illness with such strength and determination, and saved every ounce of energy he had for when his family visited him in the hospital. Although he left us too soon, his life touched so many so deeply. Mark will be extremely missed by his family, his many friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
