Martha "Marty" M Stephan

Martha M. Stephan (Marty), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2025, surrounded by love in Amelia, Ohio. Born on June 26, 1956, Marty graced this world with her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A life devoted to nurturing relationships, Marty thrived in the warmth of her family. She is survived by her devoted spouse of 41 years, Jim Stephan, their children-Matt (Rikki - Luke, Max, Gray, Luna) Hardoerfer , Meghan (Justin - Jack, Ellie) Larbes, Josh (Leslie - York, Cate, Aria, Ella, Livy, Teddy) Stephan, and Lori (Beck) Stephan. Her greatest pride was her thirteen cherished grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Marty was also a loving sister to Andy (Andrea Okun-Callahan) Callahan, Paul (Jennifer) Callahan, Bernie (Becky) Callahan, Sally (Mark) Hittner, and sister in law Janet Callahan with whom she shared countless memories that will forever echo in their hearts. Marty was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Callahan, Sr., brother Jim Callahan, Jr., and son in love Jason Ziegler.

Marty was the life of the party and always lit up a room just by walking in it. She had a welcoming presence that made you feel right at home. Marty loved the outdoors, especially gardening and being on the river. She found peace and happiness in the presence of hummingbirds, marveling at their delicate beauty and resilience.

As a member of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Marty's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through the joys and challenges she encountered. She was known for her warm heart and creativity. Often seen sewing cozy blankets for friends and family, a manifestation of her love and care.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on September 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Following the service, a celebration of life will continue at the American Legion in Milford at 12:30 pm.

As we remember Marty, let us hold dear the memories of her laughter, her generous heart, and her unwavering commitment to family. In her honor, may we all continue to cherish those we love, find joy in the simple moments, and carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and joy. She will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
