Mary Katherine (Busemeyer) Bach, 92, of Batavia, Ohio, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mercy Health-Fairfield Hospital. She was the loving wife of John Wallace Bach, who preceded her in death in 2000. During their 44-year marriage, they were blessed with 11 children. She later married Thomas Lucas, who died in 2018.

Born in Cincinnati on February 2, 1934, Mary was the youngest of eight children born to the late Frank and Veronica (Schuler) Busemeyer. Following her graduation from Regina High School, she worked in the administrative offices of WLW in Cincinnati. Mary later played an integral role in the success of Goshen Tube Company, a family venture, managing its books and administrative work for many years.

A devoted member of St. Louis Catholic Church, she sang in the choir for decades. She also shared her love of music as a member of the Forest-Aires Women's Chorus. Mary was a steady source of strength, encouragement and support to countless women in Clermont County facing difficult seasons in their lives, with many becoming part of a close-knit circle of friends.

She loved her family and found joy in observing nature, tending her flowers and entering prize-winning blooms, arrangements and artwork that earned hundreds of ribbons at the Clermont County Fair. She delighted in daily puzzles and brainteasers that kept her mind active and engaged. Mary remained independent, living on her own and driving until a health event in December 2025. In the months that followed, she faced many challenges with strength and determination.

She is survived by her eight children, Greg, Jeff, Diane, Mark, Eric, Susie, Amy and John; 28 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her older brother, Thomas Busemeyer of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by three children, Karen, Nancy and infant daughter Mary Veronica. She was also a loving sister of the late Frank, Robert, Larry and Mark Busemeyer, Jane Sweeney and Ruth Slusher.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m., with Mass immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 210 N. Broadway St., Owensville, Ohio 45160. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mary Bach to the Christian Appalachian Project.
