Mary Cook

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Cook, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on December 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 31, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Helen (nee Sampson) Rauch.

Mary was known for her sweet and reserved nature. She was an avid lover of old country music. One of her greatest joys was traveling, especially on cruises, where she would create beautiful moments with her loved ones. In addition, she enjoyed the thrill of playing slot machines, often sharing laughter and camaraderie with friends and family along the way.

Mary was a treasured part of the Fox Run Family, a campground in Brookeville, Indiana, where she and her family made memories together since the 1960's. She made many new friends and "family" along the way. Those moments encapsulated her love for simplicity and the outdoors, reminding everyone of the importance of togetherness.

Mary was the beloved wife of 59 years to Dennis J. Cook; Loving mother of Lori Fisher, Dennis (Diana) Cook, and the late Kimberly McLaughlin; Dear grandmother of Joshua, Brittney (Josh), Drew, Matthew (Anita), Tyler, and Payton; Great grandmother of 9; Dear sister of Gerald Rauch and mother-in-law to Doug McLaughlin.

Along with her parents and daughter, Mary is preceded in death by her siblings Sonny Heinrich, Nicholas Rauch, Betty Brueggeman, Jean Gould, Joann Johnson; and her great grandchild Emersyn.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM. Please consider donating in Mary's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
