Mary Jane Hooton

Mary "Jane" Hooton, age 80 of Miami Township passed surrounded by her family, early Monday morning, December 26, 2016 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery. She was born January 20, 1936 in Cross Plains, Indiana the daughter of Roland and Clara Warfield Hooton. She was a graduate of Versailles High School and her first employment was as a typist with the Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, Indiana where she returned to after the birth of her children and continued as a secretary. Jane later was employed by the Smithsonian Institute in the personnel department of the Red Castle and the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. When she returned to the Ohio area she was employed by the Department of Labor in Cincinnati and then transferred to the Indianapolis, Indiana branch. Again, upon her return to Ohio, she was employed by Sibcy Cline Reality in the Milford-Mulberry office from where she retired. She is survived by her children and spouses; John "Michael" (Teresa) Hill, Nancy (Tom) Pappas, Jodi (Tom) Weinschenk, grandchildren; Bea, Clara and Mike Hill Jr., Kristin and Ryan Pappas, Gavin and Nick Holt, 2 great-granddaughters Ava and Sophia Harper, sisters, Hope Fisse, Faith Huffman, twin brothers; Duane and Dwight Hooton and many loved nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Swingle. A Memorial Services is planned for 6:00 PM, Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford with visitation from 5:00 PM until the time of service. Reverend Linda McClanahan will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Indiana. Her family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Alzheimer's Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
