Mary "Sue" Imbus

Mary Susan Penderghast Imbus was born April 8, 1937, to the late Elmer T. and Dolores C. (nee Huber) Penderghast, in Cincinnati, OH.

Sue was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Robert J. Imbus, Jr. Loving mother of

Kathleen (David) Bartish, John (Lisa) Imbus, William (Amie) Imbus, Thomas Imbus, and Teresa (Herb) Messer; Cherished grandmother of Michelle, Kelly, Danny, Joe, Sam, Zach, Jeremie, Lindsay, Madisen, Benjamin, Dylan, Emma, Jake, Claire, Clayton, and Nellie; Great-grandmother of Vivienne, Kennedy, Caleb, Colette, Charlotte, Henry, Lillian, Harrison, Owen, Hadley, and Pierce; Sister of Eileen Jordan, the late Thomas Penderghast and the late Mary Kathleen Penderghast.

Sue dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She taught them how to pray and how to play. Sue was nurturing, compassionate, and funny. Spending time in her presence was a gift.

A colorful and joyful person, Sue always asked your name, made friends easily, and left a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to spend time with her. Sue was an artist. She crocheted headbands, painted and loved diamond art. Her creative nature added a unique spark to her personality, bringing pure delight to those around her.

A graduate of Ursuline Academy, Sue worked alongside the Ursuline Sisters later in life and also worked at the Jesuit Retreat Center, where she shared her warmth with all those she encountered. Sue will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Sue passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 86. Resident of Milford, OH. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Evans Funeral Home - 741 Center St, Milford, OH 45150. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10:00AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church - 552 Main St, Milford, OH 45150. A private burial will follow at a later date at Ursuline Cemetery in Brown County. Memorial contributions can be made to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society at St. Andrew (Link below)
