Mary Helen Petry of Terrace Park, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 19. Born on May 1, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Helen (Sharkey) Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Petry; her brothers, Thomas (Rosemary) Gardner, Robert (Martha) Gardner, Theodore (Jeanine) Gardner, and James (Dolores) Gardner; and sister-in-law Jane Gardner.
She is survived by her brother Don Gardner and her four sons, Thomas Petry, Daniel (Jennifer) Petry, Stephen Petry, and Michael (Ashley) Petry, as well as nine grandchildren—Inga, Marisol, Andrei, Jackson, Elena, Alex, Sam, Palmer, and Elissa—and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary Helen attended Ursuline Academy and the University of Cincinnati, where she met and married her husband, Tom. Mary Helen adored her husband, and she treasured spending time with her family, regularly visiting Hilton Head Island as a favorite vacation spot. In her free time she enjoyed playing bridge with friends and caring for her golden retrievers.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on May 6, 2025 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford.
