Mayme Gillaspy

Mayme Gillaspy, of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, was born Jun 18, 1927 and passed away on Friday, 18 December 2020.A viewing will begin December 23 at 1PM, with funeral service beginning at 2PM at Evans Funeral Home, 1944 State Route 28, Goshen, Ohio. Graveside service at Graceland Memorial Gardens is scheduled to begin at 2:45PM.

Mayme lived a full life, dedicated to her family and service of others as a waitress, bartender, and self-employed seamstress. She was named Caregiver of the Year for her selfless dedication to caring for her special-needs son, Michael. When not serving others, she was an avid bowler, sewer, and gardener. Her family holds fond memories of her canning the produce from her garden to share throughout the year.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Gillaspy and son Michael as well as her siblings and parents. She is survived by her children, James (wife Shanda) and David Gillaspy and their families. Her six Grandchildren are Tim (wife Marty) and Ken (wife Kris) Gillaspy, Anita (husband Evan) James, Mary (husband Jerry) Williams, Michelle Petry, and Tina (husband B.J.) Ferguson. Her fifteen Great-Grandchildren are Timmy, Grace, Josiah, Joy, Gideon, Mercy, Kyle (Ashton), Brayden, Morgan, Shane, Cole (Sari) Courtney, Luke, Brad, and Olivia. She also had five Great-Great Grandchildren, Carter, Harper, Alexander, Finnley, and Caleb.
