Melody "Joy" Vearil

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melody "Joy" Vearil, age 49, who peacefully left us on June 2, 2026, in Milford, Ohio. Born on September 18, 1976, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Donna (nee Van Dyke) Vearil and the late Daryl Vearil. Joy was a vibrant spirit whose love for life touched everyone around her.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Joy remember her remarkable sense of humor and her generous heart. Joy was truly a selfless individual; she dedicated her life to helping others, always lending a hand or a listening ear. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her four nephews.

An avid animal lover, Joy had a special place in her heart for dogs, having shared her life with Thurston, Lovey, and Frankie. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as lighting candles, curling up in a cozy blanket in front of a horror movie, and indulging in her mother's homemade key lime pie.

Joy is survived by her loving mother Donna C. Vearil; Cherished sister of Nikki Smith and Benjamin (Sarah) Vearil; Dear "auntie" of Rodger Smith III, Colin Smith, Benjamin Vearil, and Owen Vearil. Joy is preceded in death by her dad, Daryl O. Vearil.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home - Milford. Funeral services will be held the next morning on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Evans. Burial will immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery -Milford.
