After 83 years living a life filled with passion and adventure, Melvin L. White passed away on July 2, 2024. Born in Cincinnati, OH on June 12, 1941, Melvin dedicated 34 years to the Railroad, where he poured his energy and determination into his work.
Throughout his years, Mel found solace in the embrace of nature, nurturing his love for the great outdoors through camping, hiking, and various outdoor activities. A dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America, Melvin instilled values of loyalty and perseverance in countless young minds, leaving an indelible mark on his community. His fervor for woodcarving was unmatched, his hands crafting intricate works of art.
Melvin was never one to shy away from sharing his thoughts and opinions, always eager to engage in lively discussions with friends and family. His compassion extended to his furry friends, always keeping a pet by his side as a loyal companion through the years. His marriage to his beloved wife Helen brought joy and stability to his life and theirs was a love that stood the test of time.
Mel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen White, his children, Mark (Cathy) White, Vikki White-Ward and David (Carrie) Hampton and his grandchildren, Tyler (Bridget) White, Riley Hampton, Reece Hampton and Chance Hampton. He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Mary Louise Feasel as well as his brothers Kenneth Ray, Robert and Tom.
A celebration of Melvin's life will take place on July 28, 2024, at 12 pm until 4 PM at the Miami Twp Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Dr., Milford, Ohio, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life. His legacy will live on through the memories he leaves behind, his spirit soaring free in the great outdoors he cherished.
Though his physical presence may no longer grace this earth, Melvin's spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his zest for life, unwavering dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May his soul find peace in the eternal beauty of the wilderness he so cherished.
