Michael Leonard Budzynski

Michael (Mike) Leonard Budzynski passed away on February 10 at his home in Loveland, Ohio. Born September 8, 1963 to Leonard Budzynski and Beatrice (Walling) Budzynski in Long Beach, California, he grew up Toledo, Ohio, attended school there and graduated in 1981 from Bowsher High School. He served his country honorably as a United States Marine from 1982 to 1986, earning a Rifle Marksman badge, Good Conduct, and Sea Service Deployment ribbon Mike received his Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree (1991) from the University of Toledo in Electrical Engineering, and Masters of Engineering Management (2001) from the George Washington University. He worked as an engineer and project manager all over the world, traveling to five continents, with notable experiences in Africa, Australia, and Asia. Most recently, Mike was a project manager for Bon Secours-Mercy Health System, shepherding IT projects into its hospital systems to better serve patients of the ministry. Mike served for the last four years as an Elder at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, in Milford, Ohio, where he was a member. He had many hobbies and interests including the study of military history, photography, travel, road bicycling, hiking and camping. Mike enjoyed mountain climbing as well, summiting peaks in the United States and Mexico. He was an accomplished woodworker and metalworker, building furniture and tools for the home. He served Boy Scout Troop 635 as an Assistant Scout Master and Scout Master, mentoring many young men in their development and attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. Mike married Kristin E. Fink of Ida, Michigan on August 12, 1989. They became the proud parents of two extraordinary sons, who are following their parents’ footsteps by serving their country. Surviving is his wife, Kristin; son Adam Budzynski of Okinawa, Japan; son Matthew Budzynski of Loveland, Ohio; his parents, Leonard and Beatrice Budzynski of Maumee, Ohio; his brother and sister-in-law Keith (Lynne) Budzynski; sister and brother-in-law Katherine (Alan) Reifert; and Cheri (Baker) Budzynski. A funeral service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are being handled by Evans Funeral Home, Milford, Ohio.
