Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Willis Haight, beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on October 31, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on January 12, 1958, in Mariemont, Ohio, Michael's life was a testament to the joy of living, and he embraced every moment with passion and enthusiasm.

A dedicated Service Director for the City of Milford retiring with a total of 32 years of service, Michael was not only a hardworking man but also the patriarch of his family. His presence was always felt, radiant and warm. A true family man, he nurtured a close-knit bond with his family, wife Stephanie (nee Hemmer) whom he married March 12, 2003; his beloved daughter, Nicole Renee Mitchell; and his cherished grandson, Alexander (Madison) Michael Bolington, along with his great-grandchild, Blakelynne Alicia Bolington; and with one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Mark (Pam), loving nephews Devvin, Dillon, and Ethan, as well as his mother and father in-laws, Madonna, and Jerry Hemmer. Michael was preceded in death by: his daughter Alicia Marie as well as his parents Willis and Yvonne.

Michael was a man of diverse interests, a true gearhead who found joy in all things with wheels, whether two or four. He had a special love for movies and was an avid Star Trek fan, often seen discussing the intricacies of the series with fellow enthusiasts. Music filled his life, and his enthusiasm for it resonated with friends and family alike. Michael possessed the rare gift of making everyone feel at ease; he never met a stranger and had a warmth that fostered lasting friendships.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Victor Stier American Legion Post 450 on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor a man whose laughter and spirit enriched the lives of many.

As we reflect upon Michael's remarkable life, let us remember the joy he found in each moment, the love he shared, and the unforgettable memories we cherish. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and enthusiasm will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
