Michael E. Young

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Eugene Young, who left this world on March 4, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 20, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Robert and Katherine (nee Black) Young. Mike spent his life as a devoted husband, father, and friend, remembered for his kind spirit and unwavering dedication to his family.

Mike was the beloved husband of 56 years to Sharon L. (nee Procter) Young; Loving father of Terri (Danny) North, Angie (Gary) Deniston, and Michael (Jenny) Young; Cherished grandpa of Lily North, Reed Deniston, Cora Deniston, Wesley Young, and Brendan Young; Dear brother of Tom (Darlene) Young. Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his siblings Timothy (Mary) Young, Ray (late Glenda) Young, Bobby (late Coleen) Young, Norma (late Bill) Sydnor, Linda (Bill) Bridges, and Jack (late Betty) Young.

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 25, 1965, to October 24, 1968, achieving the rank of Specialist 5 (T), E-5. Following his service, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a machinist at General Electric and Siemen's, where his meticulous nature and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on his colleagues.

Mike cherished the time spent with his family. Family gatherings were a source of joy for him; whether they were playing cards, throwing horseshoes, camping under the stars, enjoying simple picnics, or just hanging out on the porch, Mikel's laughter and light-hearted spirit filled every moment. He had a unique gift for connecting with people, never meeting a stranger, and his wicked sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.

An avid fisherman, Mike found tranquility by the water's edge. He had a passion for classic cars and took pleasure in attending car shows over the years. Mike also enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching old westerns and engaging his mind with crossword puzzles. A true handyman at heart, he could always be found tinkering away on various projects.

Mike's legacy of kindness, dependability, and love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his unwavering support and gentle nature.

A funeral service in honor of Mike will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, beginning at 11:00 AM. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the same location starting at 10:00 AM, allowing friends and family to gather and celebrate the remarkable life he led. Burial will follow at Stonelick IOOF Cemetery.
