Patricia DeMonge

Patricia A. DeMonge, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister,aunt and friend, left this world on January 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on July 28, 1947, in Maysville, KY, Patricia's vibrant spirit and boundless energy touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. A dedicated special education teacher, she spent her career advocating for and inspiring countless students, embodying a passion for education and compassion for others.

Patricia is survived by her cherished children, daughter Penny Jones and son Shawn Leatherman, along with her adoring grandchildren: Kristina Smith, Taya Jones, Jessica Villarreal, Grant Leatherman, and Grayson Leatherman. She also leaves behind her three loving sisters, Kay DeMonge, Karen Wendel, and Linda Wright, as well as her great-grandchildren Bella, Kaiden, Aubrey, Kayla, Jack, William, Emma,Steelie, and the late Amberly.

Patricia was known for her playful and adventurous spirit. Her love of crafting and tap dancing showcased her creative side, while her jokester nature and sharp wit made her the life of any gathering. A true spitfire, she certainly had no filter, and those traits only endeared her further to family and friends alike. Patricia found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending delightful afternoons at Coney Island or reading a book while listening to the calm of a storm.

In addition to her joyous personality, Patricia was committed to her community, actively participating in the Citizen's Police Academy. Her mischievous nature and unwavering dedication to those around her will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family. She will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light and laughter.
