Patricia Lee Gruber

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Lee Gruber, who peacefully departed from this world on September 28, 2024, in Loveland, Ohio, at the age of 79. Born on March 18, 1945, to the late Raymond and Mary (nee Barattieri) McHaffie, Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Pat was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Lawrence E. Gruber; Loving mother of Robert (Aimee) Gruber, Jennifer (Steve) Johnson, Stephanie (Jay) Hamm, and Michael (Stacey) Gruber; Cherished grandmother of Kayla Hamm, Conner Homan, Reagan Hamm, Ben Gruber, Ava Gruber, Nick Gruber, Bram Gruber, and the late Joey Gruber. Along with her husband, parents, and grandson, Pat is preceded in death by her sister Carol Ann McHaffie.

Pat was a woman of many talents and a heart full of compassion. She had a quick wit and a knack for choosing just the right words, always bringing a smile to those around her.

Pat's family was her pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent teaching her children and grandchildren how to play chess, a game she excelled at. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the beauty of Cincinnati, sharing its treasures with her loved ones such as the circus, Krohn Conservatory, and Union Terminal. She truly valued quality time spent with loved ones.

Growing up in a close-knit Italian family, Pat's love for cooking shone through, especially during large family gatherings where she shared her culinary skills. She appreciated Cincinnati's gems and enjoyed taking her loved ones to events and landmarks around the city, creating cherished memories that will endure.

In addition to her family, Pat held dear her childhood friendships. She had a special bond with her girlfriends, whom she had known since first grade. Their monthly gatherings were a source of joy and comfort, creating lifelong memories. Her talent for flower arranging shone through in her small business, "Florals by Design," where she brought beauty and joy to many with her creative touch.

As we mourn her loss, let us celebrate the vibrant life of Pat and honor the legacy of love, laughter, and creativity she leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Mass will begin at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Pat's name to the Disabled American Veterans (Link below).
