It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Patricia Lynn Oaks on March 9, 2026, age of 82. Born on October 7, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late George and Margaretta (nee Hughes) Hood Jr. Patricia lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and an unwavering spirit.
Known for her friendly and outgoing nature, Patricia never met a stranger. Her ability to light up a room with her vibrant personality and infectious sense of humor endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a rare gift for making connections, forming friendships with ease, and nurturing those bonds with love and care.
Patricia's greatest joy was found in her family. She treasured the time spent with her husband, Bob, whether it was relaxing on their front porch, enjoying the simple pleasure of music, or taking leisurely drives together. Her devotion to her family was profound, and she will be lovingly remembered by those she loved for the warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love she provided.
In addition to her family, Patricia had a passion for life's little pleasures. She took delight in getting her hair done, exploring the world of shopping, and adorning herself with jewelry that sparkled as brightly as her spirit. A lover of reading and puzzles, Patricia enjoyed quiet moments immersed in her favorite pastimes and no one could forget her fondness for garlic parmesan wings and Dove chocolate.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years Robert E. Oaks; Loving mother of Mary (John) Mattes and Robert Mark Oaks; Dear grandmother of Christopher, Brendan, and Ryan Kane; Cherished sister of Cheryl (Jim) Newsome, Tom Hood, and the late Dennis (surviving wife Becci) Hood.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM inside the 2nd floor chapel at the Cottingham Retirement Community - 3995 Cottingham Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45241.
