Patricia Allen Shinkle, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 10, 1940, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, to the late Oscar and Daisy (nee Moore) Blevins.
Pat was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Robert A. Shinkle Sr.; Loving mother of Robert "Bob" (Hope) Shinkle Jr., and the late Judy (Shawn) Krebs; Cherished grandmother of Haley (Steven) Crooker, Taylor (Kaitlyn) Shinkle, Ryan Krebs, Logan Krebs, and Eric (Kelby Craig) Krebs; Great-grandmother of Larkin Crooker, Griffey Crooker, Legend Shinkle, and Legacy Shinkle. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Along with her parents, husband, and daughter, Pat is preceded in death by her siblings Marianna, Dorothy, Francis, Oscar Jr., Marshall "Mike", Seth, and Della.
Pat dedicated herself to nurturing her family and was an avid supporter of her grandchildren's sports, always present to cheer them on with encouragement. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, bringing joy and happiness that enriched her days. Pat's straightforward, no-nonsense approach to life endeared her to many; she was a person of conviction, unafraid to express her thoughts.
For over 30 years, she played a vital role in operating Shinkle's Concessions with her husband Robert, where they delighted countless patrons with delicious sweets and comforting food at fairs and festivals. Pat also lent her organizational skills to her husband's business, Shinkle's Burner Service, where she expertly managed phone operations.
Pat found beauty in the small things, often spending time watching the hummingbirds and butterflies that danced in her garden. A member of the Eastern Star, Pat was deeply involved in her community and derived great pleasure from attending the Antique Machinery Shows in Georgetown and Owensville.
A visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. We invite all who loved her to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating the remarkable life she led.
