Paul A. Singleton, Sr., age 86, born in St. Bernard, Ohio, to Thomas and Eva Singleton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 18, 2023. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Patricia Singleton, nee Hignite. He is the father of Paul Jr. (Kathy) and Steve. The step-father of Randy Hignite (Emma), Rick Hignite, Julie Goure (Vinny) and Jackie Miller (Randy). He is the very proud grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 28 and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving sister Lois Roberts and step-mother Juanita Phelps. Also, half sisters Sherry Xander, Carol Smith, Vickie Haskins, and Patti Scales. He was preceded in death by brother Thomas and half-sister Wanda Craigwall. Also, his stepfather Walter Phelps who raised him from the age of six.
Paul worked for the Proctor & Gamble company for 36 years and served as the Ivorydale Employment Manager at the time of his retirement in 1992. He was also an accomplished singer and sang with two groups in the late 50’s and early 60’s, The Seniors and The Dolphins with whom he recorded the very popular song, “Hey-Da-Da-Dow” in 1964.
Paul was a born again Christian and sang in many area churches for the remainder of his life. He has been an active member in the Montgomery Assembly of God Church, now Summit City Church, since 1982. He loved serving the Lord and was involved in various ministries but will be most fondly remembered for his music and as a constant and faithful reader and teacher of The Bible. The celebration of life service will be held at the Summit City Church, 7950 Pfeiffer Road, on Monday, May 22nd, 2023. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, Ohio.
