Paula Jan (Pam) Bick, 72, of Milford, OH, a kind, gentle, sweet soul, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 9, in the Special Care Memory Unit at Mason Christian Village. Her passing brought to a close her valiant 6.5-year battle vs. Alzheimer's Disease. Pam is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Joseph W. Bick, her daughter, Cassie (Jeff) Whitehouse, of Loveland, OH, her son, Brett (Lisa) Bick of Milford, OH, along with four beautiful grandchildren who dearly miss their "Grammy".....Grier and Ellie Whitehouse, and Jackson and Annabelle Bick. She is also survived by two sisters, Kelly (the late Craig) Barnes of Cincinnati, and Stacy Yelton of Lexington, KY, as well as her Father/Mother-In-Law, William and Janet Bick, of Bethel, OH. Also survived by nieces Taylor (Ashley) Barnes of Whitewater, Wl, and Rachel (Jason) Hacker of Fayetteville, OH, and nephews Connor (Corinne) Barnes of Cincinnati, and Matt Menard of Hamersville, OH. Survived also by numerous cousins. Pam was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ryan Paul Bick, as well as her parents, Paul and Janet Yelton, her maternal grandparents, Earl and Fairy Childers, her paternal grandparents, A.D. and Ora Yelton, her brother-in-law, Craig Barnes, as well as her sister-in-law, Katie Menard, and her niece, Becky Menard. Pam was born in Cincinnati, and grew up in Bethel, OH. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Bethel-Tate High School in 1970, and was an honors graduate in sociology from Wittenberg University, 1974, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Pam and Joe were married in Bethel on December 15, 1973, while home from college over Christmas break, Pam at Wittenberg, and Joe in graduate school at Ohio University. In January, 1975, they moved to Cleveland where Joe was employed by the Cleveland Indians Baseball Club, and Pam worked in social services while pursuing a Masters Degree at Case Western University, a project she never got to finish once children entered the picture. Their three children were all born in Cleveland, in 1980, 1981 and 1985. Joe left the Indians in June, 1980, to become Executive Vice President of the Edward J. Keating Management Agency, an athlete management firm. The big adventure of their lives began in August, 1986, when Pam and Joe, and three children ages 6, 5 and 10 months, moved back to Cincinnati for Joe to found his own sports agency, Pro Star Management, ongoing until 2020 when the company merged with Meister Sports after Pam became ill. Joe was a one-man company for 20 years, representing 40 professional baseball players at any given time, and Pam proved to be the glue that held everything else together. In addition to all that she did with the children, she ran the business and daily chores of the household, and, remarkably, was active on a daily basis in not only all the home activities, but also those in their neighborhood and the children's schools while figuring out her own social involvements with friends and family, daily 6-mile runs, reading a book a week, yoga, weightlifting, and her Wednesday morning bowling league. This routine continued for years! When the children got older and their sports activities turned more serious, Pam, still doing all she had ever done, transitioned into one of the greatest ever "Baseball/Soccer/Hockey Moms". Trips for those sports were literally all over the map, and the mileage and the memories were wonderful and unforgettable. Pam also loved vacation travel with family and friends, her favorite spots on Earth being Rosemary Beach, FL, Hawaii, the family home on Norris Lake in Tennessee, and numerous spring training trips to
Arizona with forays to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Our family wishes to express our love and special blessings to those who were involved in Pam's care following her Alzheimer's diagnosis in August, 2018, including Denise Pehrson, the incredible Sherri Yerkes, and the amazing staff at Mason Christian Village and Christian Village Hospice. We can never thank al! of you angels on Earth enough for your love and care of our sweet Pammy. A memorial service for Pam will be held Sunday, December 15, in the Stone Center at Mason Christian Village, 411 Western Row Road, Mason, OH 45040. That date is Pam and Joe's 51" wedding anniversary. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm, immediately followed by her services. A brief service and burial will be on Monday, December 16, at 11 am in Evergreen Cemetery 234 Center Street, Loveland, OH 45140,next to her dear Ryan.
