Paula Sue White

Paula White, 76, passed from this life to the glories of Heaven on January 24, 2025 at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Paula was born to Paul E. and Rosemarie (nee Sams) White on April 13, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Paula had a great affinity for southeastern Kentucky where her parents were born, and chose to attend Oneida Baptist Institute, a boarding school in Oneida, Kentucky, for her high school education. She was named Sweetheart Queen in 1967, the year of her graduation. She made many friends there, some who remained until her passing. She attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky; but soon transferred to Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan. Throughout her life, she maintained many friendships from college.

Earning her bachelor's degree in 1974, she soon began her teaching career at a Christian school in Florida, followed by a move back to Ohio in 1979 where she taught at Milford Christian Academy, primarily fifth grade, for 21 years. After her retirement from teaching, she worked as a secretary at First Baptist Church of Milford and later at Record Express, LLC, until her health forced her to permanently retire in 2017.

Paula's greatest decision in life was to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, which she did as a teenager. This decision framed her life, and each notable event was connected to her Christianity. Paula was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Milford for 57 years, having joined the church in 1968. She was instrumental in leading her mother and sisters to join the church a year later. She was a devoted and enthusiastic choir member nearly all her years at the church, and participated in smaller singing groups and occasionally sang solos. Her life of devotion continued as she was deeply involved in all activities in her church and school. Paula volunteered at the church welcome desk and served as a secretary in various Sunday school classes and also as an altar worker. She frequently helped with the Bible printing ministry, Bearing Precious Seed and in the annual Faith Promise Missions Conference. She spent many evenings and Saturdays visiting Sunday school class members, the elderly, sick, and shut-ins.

Paula's influence as a teacher remains far-reaching as she inspired many lives and loved each student. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her former students and was blessed to receive cards and letters thanking her for the impact she had in their lives. Paula was a lover of music; her favorite genres being classical, Southern Gospel and bluegrass. She was an ongoing student of the Bible and an avid reader of Christian biographies, American history, and books about Kentucky and Appalachia, as well as poetry which she encouraged her students to memorize.

Paula lead a life of sterling character and reputation, living a life of obedience to God and faith in Jesus whom she now sees face to face. As evidenced in her life of service, above all, Paula was known to be faithful in all things.

She was a responsible and dutiful daughter, a devoted sister, a loving aunt, and a steadfast and loyal friend. She fiercely loved her family, and friends that were like family. Her funny and, at times, sarcastic sense of humor was well known. She loved being loved on by her sisters' and nieces' dogs, Odie, Charlie, Mochi, Macaron and Buckeye, and she loved Tigger and Maggie, the cats she shared with her sister, Debbie.

Left to grieve are her sisters, Linda (Mike) Mider of Blanchester, Sandra Christensen, and Debra White, both of Goshen Twp.; her mother's sister, Joyce (Roy) McCarty of DePauw, Indiana; also her nieces and nephews, David (April) Alzayer of Florence, Kentucky; Kristopher Alzayer of Milford; Kim (Tim) Zeinner of Goshen; Julie (Joe) Childers of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jared (Susan) Christensen of Liberty Twp; Jennifer Christensen of Goshen; Stephanie (Scott) Sommer of Blanchester; and Candice (Tyler) Huggins of Goshen; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends, co-workers, and church members.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rosemarie White, and brothers-in-law, Phil Senters and Colin Christensen.

The service for Miss Paula White will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM and service immediately following at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church of Milford, 1367 Woodville Pike, Milford, Ohio. Burial will be at the Goshen Cemetery, Spring Street, Goshen, Ohio.
