Peggy Owens Hughes

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Owens Hughes on July 22, 2024, of Milford, Ohio. Born on June 8, 1950, in Buffalo, NY, Peggy was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and talented artist.

Peggy pursued her passion for art, creating beautiful masterpieces that captured the essence of life and emotion. She was a self-employed artist and sculptor, whose creativity knew no bounds. Her unique perspective and artistic vision touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of experiencing her work. She made and repaired jewelry and won many awards for her work. Peggy attended the highly accredited Cincinnati Art Institute. She loved and cared about everyone and was a mom to those who needed a mom. One of her fondest memories was having backpacked throughout Europe and was known to everyone on the beach in Florida as “Miss Mara”.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity that will forever be treasured by her devoted spouse Charlie Hughes, daughter Maranda (Alex Ioannou) Hughes, brother Jim (Linda) Owens, and sister Lee (Rick) Campbell, nieces and nephews Tina Bradley, Keith Campbell, James Owens and Amber Weinel. Peggy's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Peggy was preceded in death by: sister Patsy Owens, her mother Lola Owens, father Hoyt Owens and niece Lauren Campbell

Peggy's kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though we say goodbye to Peggy in this world, her spirit and artwork will continue to inspire and uplift us for years to come. May she rest in peace, knowing she touched the lives of many with her talent and compassion.
