Raymond Joe Philhower Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 10, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on September 17, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ray lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, touching the hearts of everyone he encountered.

Ray was married to his high school sweetheart, Lynn Philhower, for an incredible 53 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and shared experiences. Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Ray had a knack for brightening any room he entered. He cherished his role as a father and delighted in being a grandfather, finding unmatched joy in his grandchildren.

A proud entrepreneur, Ray founded and served as CEO of American Elevators Inc., leaving a lasting impact on his industry. His commitment to his work was matched only by his loyalty to his community. Always willing to help family or neighbors with projects or repairs, Ray was generous with his time and knowledge. As a proud member of the IUEC Local Union #11 for over 40 years, Ray's dedication to his craft was a testament to his work ethic and determination.

Ray was a passionate supporter of his local sports teams, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Bearcats with unwavering enthusiasm. His love for the outdoors was evident in his many days spent playing golf, camping and boating with family, creating cherished memories in nature's embrace.

A compassionate soul, Ray actively supported the Walk a Head for a Brain Tumor Cure Organization in Cincinnati, helping to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to his heart.

Ray leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Philhower; children, Jason Philhower (Mary Jo), late Joe Philhower (Tara) and Jennifer Gillen (Michael); grandchildren; Hannah, Luke, Caitlyn, Carter, Stella and Samuel; brothers, Terry Philhower (Sherry) and Darrell Philhower (Pattie) and sister, Sheryl Ernst (Mike).
