It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard David Bushelman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on August 4, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on June 6, 1947, in Morrow, Ohio, to the late Lee Bushelman and Maxine Walker.
Rick spent his life in service to his family, community, and country. He served honorably in the United States Air Force, and later dedicated his career as a lab technician at Cincinnati Testing Labs for over 44 years, where his hard work and commitment were deeply appreciated.
Rick was a man of many qualities, known for his generous spirit and unwavering love for his family and church. A devoted Catholic, he has attended St. Louis Church every Sunday since its opening, where he became a cherished member of the community. His faith guided him through life, providing him with the strength and kindness that touched everyone he met.
Rick's vibrant personality was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a natural jokester, full of wit and charm, capable of lighting up any room with his infectious smile. Rick loved to ride motorcycles and had a special passion for Corvettes. He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and had a great love for baseball. In quieter moments, he could often be found immersed in a good book.
Rick's love for his family was boundless, especially for his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a jack-of-all-trades-a handyman with a knack for finding unconventional, yet effective, solutions to any problem. Whether it was fixing a broken toy or tackling household repairs, Richard approached every task with creativity and enthusiasm.
He cherished family vacations to Myrtle Beach and enjoyed visiting his oldest son, creating lasting memories that his family will always treasure. Rick's warmth, humor, and devotion will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Rick was the beloved husband of 52 years to Peggy Bushelman (nee Blanton); Loving father of Rhett Bushelman, Hope (Lee) Crouch, and the late Rory Bushelman; Dear grandfather of Noah Crouch, Tristan Crouch, Jacey Bushelman, and Reid Bushelman. Rick is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate Rick's life and legacy. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home in Milford from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Louis Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery in Vera Cruz.
