Richard Darnell Carpenter

Richard Carpenter, 78, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2022 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born November 6, 1943 in Hamilton, OH

He is survived by his sons; Richard, Norris (Rachel) and Randy Carpenter; the mother of his children Ann Wade; siblings; Arthur (Pam), Harold, Elaine, Deborah (JC), Larry (Karen), Chris (Vastie), and Dwight(Judy); grandchildren; Ashley, Amanda, Angela, Jacob, Jedidiah, Julius, Michael, Jermain, Derrick, Unique; great grandchildren; Aleah, Titan, Asiana, Frank Jr, Avante, Akeelah, Akiya, Marley, Jeremiah, Zairra, Montreal, Ja`Neka, Brianna, Jermain Jr, Jermell, Shaniqua, Chrishauna, Jordan, Cameron and great – great grandchildren; Ka’Millia, Ka’Maya and Za'Riyah. He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Ezell and Mary Lue (nee Rogers) Carpenter, his brother; Ezell Jr, his sisters; Margaret McGhee, Mary Payton and Lou Stella Keith and his grandson; James M. Ward.

Early in life Richard decided to put his education on hold to stay home to work on the family farm. He will always be remembered by his infectious smile. Richard’s wishes were to be cremated and buried with his mother in the Old Danville Cemetery in Alcorn County, Mississippi.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday,, September 17, 2022 in Mississippi. at his graveside in the Old Danville Cemetery.
