Richard “Dale” Fetick was born on November 2, 1951 to the late Richard Allen and Gloria (Nee
Cain) Fetick. Loving and devoted husband of 44 years to Sandy (Nee Scalise) Fetick, Dear
father of Scott Price, Justin (Kim) Klei, Adam (Valerie) Klei; cherished grandfather of Kayla Klei,
Aubrie and Bailey Klei, Drew Klei, great grandfather to Scarlet Rose Klei, brother of Sharon
(Jerry) Blackburn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale Fetick grew up in Loveland, OH and graduated from Loveland Hurst High School in 1969.
While in high school and for several years after, Dale was the lead singer of Speckled Band and
played at all the nightclubs throughout the city. His greatest thrill for that band was being asked
to be the opening act for the Classics IV. Continuing his love of music, someone invited him to a
barbershop chorus meeting and the rest is history. Dale loved four part harmony and was
hooked. He got in his 1st quartet with Tom Rouse when Tom’s dad Bob, brought Dale to Tom’s
house with another barbershopper and formed a quartet, putting Dale on the tenor part. Dale hit
the pinnacle of his barbershop career when his quartet, Marquis, won the International
Championship in 1995. Music has been a passion all of his life. After he had to retire due to
illness, retirement didn’t stop him. He filled his days singing with the 17 piece Swingtime Big
Band and during the week would entertain the elderly by singing songs from their era in local
nursing homes.
Dale was a humble person and a great man of faith. He loved the Lord and really enjoyed
singing at church and playing his guitar in the church band. He dearly loved his Pastors, Dale
and Cathy Campfield, and his brothers and sisters in Christ. In addition to his faith and love of
music, family and friends were the center of his life.
Dale was fun, funny, kind, passionate about anything he did, was an impeccable dresser, very
orderly, incredibly strong and compassionate. There was no question when Sandy asked if her
ailing mother could move in even though he was dealing with serious medical issues. He
helped take care of Sandy’s mom even though he was ailing and never made her feel like she
was not wanted. When he was in the hospital losing his 2nd leg, Sandy’s dad was rushed to the
hospital in serious distress. Dale told Sandy to go to her father - he would be okay - always
thinking of others first. He was not a complainer and nobody knew how much he truly suffered.
He was very optimistic in spite of his medical condition. Life will never be the same without him!
