It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita JoAnn Boyce, who departed this life peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on December 2, 1934, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, JoAnn lived a life full of compassion and kindness, always putting her family first.
Outside of the love and care she poured into her home-creating a warm, welcoming space where family always came first-JoAnn also dedicated her professional life to the noble calling of nursing. As a homemaker, she found joy in the everyday moments, nurturing those around her with patience, strength, and a quiet grace that made a house truly feel like home.
In her years in healthcare, she carried that same compassion into her work, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. With a gentle spirit and caring hands, she comforted her patients, eased their burdens, and brought light to even the most difficult days.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Boyce, her parents, Norbert and Edna Scott and her brother, Norbert Scott (Laurel). She leaves behind a loving family that includes her children: Susan Pitman, Joseph Boyce, Doug Boyce (Laura), and Eric Boyce. JoAnn cherished her role as a grandmother to Brandon (Nikki), Stephen (Aly), Ashlie, and Allison (David), as well as her great-grandchildren, Logan and Joshua Pitman, and Elijah Saunders. In addition to her immediate family, JoAnn is survived by her sister, Sue Polly, and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church known for her love of reading, her passion for Bible study, and her enjoyment of country music. JoAnn had an innate ability to connect with those around her. She found joy in birdwatching from her window, creating a serene space to reflect on life's moments. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral services for JoAnn will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, beginning with a visitation at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (101 S Lebanon Rd, Loveland, OH 45140) at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. JoAnn will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery at 12:30 PM, where family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life and legacy.
In the words of her family, JoAnn was truly a family woman, whose love and light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she cherished. As we remember JoAnn, let us hold close the memories of her kindness, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave.
