It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Mae (Williamson) Neago, age 90, of Loveland, Ohio, who passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2025 after a short illness.
Rita was born in 1935, the 8th of 10 children of Edna and Charles Williamson of Davidsville, PA. She is survived by her brother Gary Williamson of Pendleton, SC, sons Steve (Pam) Neago Jr. of Milford, OH, and Craig (Julie) Neago of Berea, KY, grandchildren Kelly (Theo) York of Lexington, KY, Randall (Tess) Neago of Warwick, RI, Claire Neago of Carrollton, TX, Melissa (Bryan) Atkinson of Portland, OR and Josh (Hannah) Neago of Lowell, AR and six great-grandchildren. Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Steve E. Neago Sr., brothers Donald, Harold and Glenn, sister Doris, brothers David, Daniel, Clair and Charles.
Rita attended Susquehanna University where she studied Political Science. In 1956 at Ohio Northern University, she met and later married Steve E. Neago Sr. of Canton, Ohio. Upon their marriage they relocated to the Cincinnati, Ohio area where they raised two sons, Steve Jr. and Craig.
Rita worked in increasing capacities for several firms including: Formica Corporation, Dinsmore & Shohl law firm, and Procter and Gamble.
Rita was an early female trailblazer in the professional business workplace. She was appointed as the first ever female Corporate Officer at Procter and Gamble. Rita’s work included reporting business information to the Board of Directors, facilitating mergers and acquisitions and SEC filings, as well as organizing annual shareholder meetings. In her work, Rita was known for her attention to detail, professionalism, and graciousness. She was also the president of the Cincinnati chapter of Zonta club (a women’s business organization), and raised funds for Berea College in Berea, KY.
Her personal interests during retirement included: her many friends and family, reading historical books, following politics and current affairs, watching March Madness and collecting antiques.
Throughout her life, Rita displayed her intelligence and wit, kindness, grace, compassion, and love of friends and family. We will all sorely miss our Mom and Nana.
Rita’s funeral service will be held at the John H. Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St, Milford, OH on Saturday November 1st, 2025. Visitation hours are 10:00 am -11:00 am, with her celebration of life service beginning at 11:00 am.
The Neago family is very appreciative of the excellent loving care that was provided to Rita by the staff of Traditions of Deerfield and Queen City Hospice.
