Rita C. Reynolds

Rita C. Reynolds, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, known for her unwavering strength and independence, has passed away at the age of 97. She was born on October 15, 1926, in Bangor, Maine, and her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


Throughout her life, Rita found solace in the outdoors, tending to her beloved garden and expressing her creativity through crochet. She made dozens of Afghans and gave them away to anyone that crossed her path. Her dedication to her family was unmatched. Rita was generous with her time and skills often helping others by volunteering with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.


She leaves behind a loving son, Rick (Rhonda) Reynolds, and a devoted daughter, Rhonda (Mike) Sofranko, cherished grandchildren, Justin (Megan) Reynolds, Lindsey (Rodery) Ruivivar, Michael (Nicole) Sofranko and Maria (Jim) Markus, great-grandchildren, Edward, Andrew, Isabella and Oliver, and her brother Gary Reynolds, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Rita is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Reynolds and her parents, Joseph and Julie Traylor, and siblings, Donald, Hervy, Emile and Loraine.


The funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.


Rita's infectious laughter, compassionate nature, and independent spirit will forever be remembered by those she touched during her time on this earth. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the gardens she so loved.
