Robert Lee Gomer

Robert "Bob" Lee Gomer, 86, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on January 16, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 53 years, to the late Carole Jean Gomer, and a loving father to Lori Lyn Gomer and Andrea Lee Gomer. He was a proud grandfather to twin granddaughters, Savannah Isabelle and Alexis Raquel Gomer. Bob was preceded in death, by his parents, Charles (Burnace) Gomer and Lettie (Godsey) Gomer, as well as his stepmother, Etta Geneva (Cato) Gomer. Bob was an only child born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1952. He enlisted in the Marines and honorably served for four years, demonstrating his deep commitment to his country. Bob attended the University of Cincinnati, receiving an Associate's Degree in Business Management. He pursued a career in freight transportation, working for Yellow, PIE, Consolidated Freightways, Gateway of the South, and Putnam. Bob was a dedicated member of the Milford Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was a long-term member of the Cincinnati Traffic Club. Bob also served as a Deacon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Kenwood, Ohio. He cherished time spent outdoors, traveling to Gatlinburg and Hilton Head, and being with his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. Military Funeral Honors and a Memorial Service will follow, officiated by Rev. Cliff Meyers, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 8645 Kenwood Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45242. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a fund, established for his granddaughters' education.
