Robert Aubrey Henne Sr.

Henne, Robert Aubrey Sr., husband of the late Frances Pacicca Henne, devoted father of Mary A. (Thomas) Maxon, Linda M. Schuler, Susan C. Carman, Robert A. Henne Jr. and the late Barbara C. Henne; loving grandfather of Scott Oster, Jonathan, Sean & Timothy Maxon, Ginny (Jeff) Hollingsworth, Jason (Kristina), Jan and Justin (Lisa) Johnson, Steven & Brian Slattery and Kenneth Henne; dear great-grandfather of Haley (Tyler Whalen) & Nolan Hollingsworth, Taylor Johnson, Trent & Emily Mansburger, Cody, Olivia & Isabella Johnson, Gavin & Chelsea Johnson, Ella & Olivia Oster, Chace, Halo and Kianna Maxon and Ketch-ka Slattery; brother of the late Jeanne (Dick) Buterbaugh, Betty Henne, Dorothy (Dan) Birmingham, John "Jack" (Eleanor) Henne II, George (Lynda) Henne and Phyllis (Jerry) Wade. Mr. Henne was a Korean War Veteran earning the rank of Sgt, and receiving the Korean War Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, National Service Defence Medal, United Nations Service Medal, a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was wounded on July 11, 1953 in the Chorwon Valley, Korea. Prior to the war, Mr. Henne was a former amateur hockey player for the Don Allen Boy's Club in Buffalo, NY. After settling in Cincinnati, he continued to play Hockey in the Adult Senior Leagues and coached for years. He was also an avid chess player, playing in national chess tournaments, achieving a "B" rating nationally. Mr. Henne was a master printer and engineer before opening and operating R & B Sports in Evendale, OH, from which he retired in 2005. A resident of Reading, OH for many years, he passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, a resident of Loveland, OH.
