Robert Kenneth Owens

Robert Kenneth Owens passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emily, his brothers Jim, Jack, Fred, and Sam, his sisters Jane, Ruth, Janet, Pat, Ginny, and Margie, his wife and mother of his three sons, Jane, and their grandson, Bradley Scott.

Robert was born at home in Sharonville on October 4, 1931, the fifth of 14 children. He was an honor student and a three-sport athlete at Loveland High School before his father died and he dropped out of school to work and support his family. He worked hard the rest of his active life. Robert served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1953. He met and married Mary Jane Young in 1955. He then started Robert K. Owens Roofing in 1959 and operated successfully as an independent roofing contractor until the early 2000s. He kept busy doing odd jobs and small roofing jobs well into his 80's. He was active for many years as a Milford High School football and athletics booster. Robert enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and attending his many grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, her son Smokey Vance, his sisters Emily (Larry) and Helen (Jim, deceased) and his brother Jerry (Wanda). He is the beloved father of his sons Ken (Sharon), Mike (Debbie), and Greg (Kim), grandfather of Brett (Kathryn), Chadwick (Kelly), Ashley, Alex (John), Amy, Kendall (Chris), Katie (Jake), Olivia (Cy), and Alyssa, and great-grandfather of Grayson, Pender, Emily, Braden, Lillian, William Robert, Jack, Ford, Logan, Graham, Cy, and, his newest, newborn Lexi.

Robert, Dad, Bob, Dad O, Papa Owens, Grandpa, he is loved and will be missed by all.

The Owens Family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday April 23rd from 10 - 11AM with service at 11AM at John H. Evans Funeral Home 741 Center St. Milford, Ohio. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
