A proud Vietnam veteran, Rodney served in the Army, embodying the spirit of courage and duty that defined his life. He brought that same determination to his educational pursuits, earning a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati, which opened doors for him in the world of technology. His impressive career took him around the globe, with significant roles at the United Nations, Procter & Gamble, Cincom Systems, Adac Laboratories, Hershey Medical Center, and culminating in an inspiring 14-year stint as CIO of Cerner Corporation.


Rodney had a zest for life that was infectious. He enjoyed weekends spent on his boat gliding along the Ohio River, where he created countless memories with friends. He was an avid baseball fan, reveling in both playing and watching the game he loved. Known for his hearty laughter and camaraderie.


He leaves behind his loving wife, Sally Coombs, his cherished daughter, Alexis Lowery. Rodney had a special way of making friends wherever he went, and his circle was filled with people who appreciated his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
