Rodney Lee Griffis

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rodney Lee Griffis, aged 54, of Pleasant Plain, OH, who left this world on April 3, 2025. Born on February 9, 1971, in Naples, FL, Rodney's journey through life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family, his deep-rooted Christian faith, and his unwavering kindness towards others.  Rodney was a proud father and a loving husband to his wife, Dollie Griffis. He cherished the moments spent with his children—Liam, Chandra (Christopher) Coleman, Tyler Parker, and Alex Parker—always striving to be a guiding light in their lives. As a devoted grandfather, he delighted in watching his granddaughter, Evelynn, grow, ensuring that his legacy of love and family would continue through her.  A man of simple pleasures, Rodney found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending countless weekends boating, camping, and sharing laughter with his family. His hardworking nature shone through in his role as a road striper in road maintenance, where he took great pride in his dedication to his work and his community. Known for his old-fashioned values, he built enduring friendships with those he met; once you were in Rodney's circle, you had a friend for life. He never asked for help, always offering a helping hand to others instead.  Rodney was also a passionate sports enthusiast, with a particular love for drag racing and the Cincinnati Reds. His wealth of knowledge about the team was surpassed only by his enthusiasm for sharing it with friends, family, and anyone willing to listen.  Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Dollie; his father, David Griffis; his children, Liam, Chandra (Christopher) Coleman, Tyler Parker, and Alex Parker; his granddaughter, Evelynn Coleman; his brother, Jesse Griffis; many nieces and nephews and a network of friends and family who will forever carry his memories in their hearts.  Funeral services to celebrate Rodney’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 11:00AM, at the Evans Funeral Home, Goshen. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Providing a chance for loved ones to gather in remembrance and share stories about the remarkable man Rodney was.  As we remember Rodney Lee Griffis, let us hold dear the lessons he taught us: the importance of hard work, the joy of friendship, and the unconditional love of family.
