Roger L. Thacker

THACKER, Roger Lee, 72, of Maineville, Ohio, entered into eternal peace, Thursday, June 1, 2017.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 10 at First Baptist Church, Cook Parkway Oceana, WV 24870, and Pastor Jerry Cook will be officiating. Visitation of friends will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.

Roger was born July 9, 1944 in Williamson, WV, eldest son to James Elmo Thacker and Hazel Leona (Worley) Thacker. He graduated from Oceana High School in 1962 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1980. On December 25, 1966 he married the former Donna Sue Neal in Oceana, WV. Roger was a well-respected engineer in the manufacturing industry and was hard-working in all aspects of his life. He was a Master Mason at the Goshen Masonic Lodge No. 119, member of Goshen Order of Eastern Star No. 382, member of the Hanselmann Commandery No. 16 and Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati, Ohio. He had a great affinity of cars, both old and new, but most of all also enjoyed time with his family, including his two beautiful grandchildren.

Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna Sue (nee Neal) Thacker, his daughter Kristy Michele (Thacker) Krummen and her husband Michael Brad Krummen of Maineville, OH; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Brayden Krummen; brother Walter (Vera) Thacker of Milford, OH, brother Joe (Debbie) Thacker of Shady Spring, WV, brother John (judy) Thacker of Kopperston, WV, brother Dan (Malinda) Thacker of Beckley, WV, mother-in-law Ethelene (Phillip) Neal and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
