Ronald D. Brooks

Ronald “Ron” Douglas Brooks, 76 of Milford, Ohio went to meet his savior on July 19, 2024. Ron was born in Flat Rock Kentucky on July 28th, 1947, to John Brooks Jr and Zola Brooks (Laudermilk) who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Brooks (Hurt). His children Shondia (Mark) Schaefer, Anthony (Carrie) Brooks. His grandchildren Baylee (Brad) Anstaett, Nicholas Schaefer, Cameron Schaefer, Riley Brooks, Katie Brooks and Emma Schaefer. His brother Roy (Joyce) Brooks and many sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ron had a zest for life and never met a stranger. He was a machinist by trade, but his true passion was helping others. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross in the seventies and early eighties. Ron taught First aid and CPR classes and worked at many festivals and events in the Cincinnati Area. Ron was a volunteer fireman for Day Heights Fire department for twenty plus years and served in many different roles as well as Assistant chief and Chief. When the Day Heights Fire department disbanded, he continued to serve as a trustee/treasurer for the Day Heights Fireman’s Memorial Building and helped with maintaining the building. He also enjoyed volunteering at SEM Haven Health care and was fondly referred to as the “donut man”

Ron enjoyed spending time with family and had a vast array of hobbies that included working on cars, gardening, woodworking, fishing and raising chickens. Ron loved his family deeply. He was their number one fan. Always there to offer his love, support and encouragement. He will be deeply missed.

To honor Ron’s memory a service will be held at Evans Funeral Home 741 Center St, Milford, Ohio on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Noon with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Red Cross or The American Heart association in Ron’s name.
